LAURIE LILE, City Manager

Laurie Lile became City Manager for Monrovia at the end of April 2012. Prior to this position she served as the Assistant City Manager for the City of Palmdale for 24 years. She was first hired in Palmdale in 1988 as a Principal Planner. Over the next ten years she progressed through the ranks and was appointed to Assistant Planner, and later to an Associate Planner. In 1998 she was appointed Director of Planning.
As Palmdale's Assistant City Manager, Laurie supervised the planning and economic development departments and provided general supervision of the public works, finance and public safety department heads and their staff. She also resolved questions and concerns generated from the public and represented the city's position on topics ranging from high-speed rail to emergency management.
Laurie obtained her Bachelor's of Science degree from UC Davis and an MBA from Pepperdine University in 2010.
