Individualized, one-on-one support and assistance to businesses located in or relocating to the San Gabriel Valley is one of the many services that the San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership offers through our partnership with the Los Angeles County Economic Development Coporation's Business Assistance Program.
The Partnership has developed and maintains a "regional business assistance network" to leverage and coordinate a wide variant of business assistance programs and other resources throughout the Valley. We are also well versed on the latest economic development techniques to assist a company to effectively leverage these many resources and programs from throughout Los Angeles County and California.
The Partnership is uniquely positioned to help businesses take full advantage of all the San Gabriel Valley has to offer. Through a coalition of business service providers, local governments, utilities, and economic development organizations, we offer professional and confidential assistance free-of-charge. The Partnership assists business decision-makers and their consultants representing high growth manufacturing, distribution and service industries. Because of the our efforts, we have been able to assist in the creation and/or retention of almost 5,000 direct jobs in the San Gabriel Valley over the last 3 years.
During the fiscal year 2011-2012......
Business Assistance work included direct in‐the‐field outreach to over 1,000 SGV businesses resulting in over 225 business consultations representing over 17,704 employees. These consultations connected businesses to valuable economic development programs and services to help them sustain operations and retain jobs. Ten businesses took advantage of the special business‐assistance resources resulting in retaining 479 jobs in the San Gabriel Valley.
The Business Assistance Program is a great source for factual and timely information on a broad range of business development and location factors including:
* Site selection
* Community profiles, economic/demographic information, taxes and fee abatements
* Incentive zones (Enterprise, Revitalization, Empowerment, Foreign Trade and Redevelopment)
* Labor market information, job training resources
* Utility and transportation services
* Permit assistance and licensing
* Public financing programs (local, state, federal) including industrial development bonds
The Partnership's Director of Business Assistance and Business Development Manager act as confidential liaisons between business, local government and public agencies to facilitate timely and effective project development.
